The most gorgeous beaches in Denmark

Visiting the beaches is very often a major attraction for vacationers. The beaches by the West coast of Jutland are simply absolutely gorgeous.

The wide sandy beaches go on forever it seems. An unbroken chain of dunes differing in height border the 100 m wide beach, the 60 km of coast running from Blåvandshuk to Hvide Sande.

The blue flags you frequently see on the beaches will tell you that the water is top quality. The beaches have lots of room for everyone; activities are plentiful, from building sand castles, to swimming and playing in the refreshing waves, to sunbathing and treasure hunting.

The area also offers windsurfing, kite flying, and a beach marathon for the very active vacationers.

The Most Stunning Nature

The distance from Ringkøbing Fjord to Ho Bugt (bay) offers unique nature experiences and plenty of opportunities to explore bird and animal life at close range.

Behind the magnificent beaches the sand dunes rise along the coast, and further inland they are covered with heath and plantation, making for the perfect hiking and biking lanscape. Numerous trails are spread through the area, providing the perfect opportunity to actively enjoy the beauty of western Jutland.

Several artists have chosen to live and work in this wonderful setting where nature inspires their work. Some have open workshops where you have a chance to watch the creative process.

You can also visit museums and exhibits, for example Ravmuseet (Museum of Amber), Tirpits Stillingen by Ho (Second World War bunker), Museet Danske Brandbiler (Museum of Danish Fire Trucks), Hvalhuset in Nymindegab (Whale Skeleton Museum), and other museums of the region.
